Apparently, every company has a blog these days. Unfortunately, very few organizations capitalize fully on the content of their blog to maximize SEO results. Here are eight simple ways a blog can improve your website’s visibility, traffic and results.
1. Create a compelling name for your blog
It irritates me when I go to a company’s website and the name of the blog is… “Blog”! I urge marketers to be creative and more descriptive when they name the blog section of a website. The name of your blog is also an opportunity for optimization. Ask yourself these questions:
- What is the main theme of the blog?
- What would be a compelling description in my industry?
- Can I incorporate important SEO keywords into the title or blog name?
- Specifically, who am I trying to achieve?
Finding a descriptive name and optimizing around a theme can lead to incremental organic traffic.
Remember, if you find it difficult to create a name for your blog that includes keywords that you are trying to target, then try to include at least those keywords in the title of the blog page.
2. Reaching a specific audience for each position
I recommend that each blog post be written for a specific segment of your target audience. This allows marketers to create optimized content for specific customers and contains targeted keywords related to specific needs and solutions.
For example, if you sell marketing services, you can include an article in your blog about an industry topic (ABM marketing, for example) targeting a particular audience you’re trying to capture (B2B marketing, for example).
3. Put in place an effective URL structure
An effective URL naming convention is good for marketers and website visitors for several reasons:
It makes reporting results easy
I’ve noticed that some companies don’t include “/blog/” in their URL syntax by keeping the blog on their main domain. This can make it a little more difficult to track the overall progress of the blog within the analysis. I recommend you include/blog/in your URL structure to improve the ease of creating blog results reports.
You can guarantee user-friendly URLs
When it comes to creating the URLs of each message, many traders include each word in the title of the article in the URL. This can lead to long, hard-to-read URLs. Tip: Try to make the URL of your blog descriptive but also short and relevant. Don’t forget to omit conjunctions such as “and,” “but” and “or” in your URLs. Like what:
- Longer, non-user-friendly URLs:

- Shorter and optimized URL:

4. Continuously optimize blog content
Recycling is not only good for the environment; it’s also good for SEO!
SEO enhancements do not always require new website content. Look for additional opportunities to optimize existing blog posts. Review current content and identify opportunities for additional seO on the page. Here are some possible optimization techniques for the content of the existing blog:
- Add internal links to other relevant pages on the website.
Add optimized images (or optimize existing images).
Associate an item with another related article.
Review title tags and meta descriptions to make sure targeted keywords are included. - Taking advantage of the content of the existing blog can save valuable time and resources.
5. Finding and filling content gaps
Blogs can be a quick and easy way to create content specifically designed to fill SEO gaps.
Are there high-priority SEO phrases that you have trouble classifying yourself for? Does your site lack content related to these words? If so, these topics are excellent candidates for new blog posts.
6. Add optimized images and videos
Images help create a positive experience and can increase visitor engagement. They also provide an incremental SEO value. Don’t forget to include images in your blog post and optimize them with descriptive alt tags (including high-priority keyword phrases, if any).
Light, camera, action! Blog posts also provide an excellent home for video content. Check out your YouTube page. Do you already have video content that could improve a blog post? Videos build user loyalty and allow marketers to offer additional educational opportunities.
7. Mark it
Let’s not forget the marking of structured data. Structured data markup can be added to your HTML code to provide information on a page, rank page content and, in some cases, improve your page’s representation in SERPs.
I recommend that you include schematic marking in your post to ensure that this content is fully optimized. Here’s an example of how you can use JSON-LD structured data to mark a blog post and optimize its traffic
8. Capitalize on media sharing companyx
Sharing messages on social networks has many advantages:
It keeps your current and relevant social media sites.
This helps your audience stay engaged and therefore your SEO.
Because social signals are included in the ranking algorithm, it improves SEO results.
Social links help increase redirection traffic.
I recommend you always share the blog on social networks. Try sharing a few sentences describing a brief summary of the post or an excerpt from the message. Don’t forget to include the keywords you target in social media viewing, as these social signals can help with rankings.
